Description	:	Mrs. Anna Nestril, 88, widow of Joseph Nestril, a resident of Johnson county for sixty-six years, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank Coufal of near Ely at 4:46 p.m. Friday. She lived the past five years with her youngest daughter, Mrs. Frank Coufal, who cared for her tenderly. She was an invalid the last two years, but she was always cheerful without a complaint to those who came to visit her. She lived the past five years with her youngest daughter, Mrs. Frank Coufal, who cared for her tenderly. A week ago she was taken seriously ill; her three daughters were at her bedside when the end came. Mrs. Nestril was born in Bohemia March 14, 1848. She came to the United States in 1870, coming directly to Johnson county and taking up residence on a farm. Her husband died Nov. 1908. Surviving are her seven children, Charles, Frank, Fred Nestril, all of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Alibert Jindrich of Oxford, Mrs. William Morris of El Reno, Oklahoma, Mrs. Frank Coufal and George Nestril of near Solon. Three of Mrs. Nestril's children died in infancy, and a son, Joseph, died in 1906 in Portland, Oregon, while in the Navy. Eleven grandchildren and six great grandchildren survive. Funeral services were held at the Polansky funeral chapel in Cedar Rapids at 10 a. m. Monday, with the Rev. Frances Pokorney in charge. Burial was made in the Truhlar cemtery near Ely. The pallbearers were her grandsons, Mr. Leo Jindrich, Frank Jindrich, Milo Nestril, Frank Nestril, Harvey Kadera, Frank Coufal. A place once filled, is now vacant, Stilled to mortal ears, A form familiar to our eyes wilt never be seen on earth again, But though her voice is silent in death. And her form absent to mortal vision, Yet she is here in the loving memory of a wonderful mother, That can never be forgotten. Published in the Johnson County Democrat on December 3, 1936.
