Description	:	Anna Chrans, age 89, of Yankton, South Dakota, died Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at Avera Yankton Care Center in Yankton. Funeral services will be 10:30 AM on Tuesday, April 10, 2012, at the Wintz & Ray Funeral Home in Yankton with Reverend Steve Weispfennig officiating. Burial will be in the Yankton Cemetery. Anna Chrans was born January 19, 1923, in Reliance, South Dakota, to Andrew and Marie (Anderson) Petersen. She grew up in Reliance and graduated from Reliance High School. She married Donald Chrans on December 13, 1941, in Chamberlain, South Dakota. They moved to Yankton where Anna worked as a cook for various café's and restaurants. She married Bill Lilley in 1968 and moved to Volin, South Dakota, where she worked in the school lunch program and later owned and operated the Volin Café. She moved to Kansas City, Missouri, in 1973 and was a member of the Fairmont Christian Church, helping in their various missionary works. A few years later, she moved back to Yankton and in 1983 started working for the Human Services Center until retiring in 1996. Anna was a member of the Yankton VFW Auxiliary and enjoyed working in her flower garden and was a fantastic cook and baker. Survivors include her five children: Janice Moore, Robert (Mary) Chrans, Linda Witt, Pam Ricke, and Carol Jones; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother, Vernon (Betty) Petersen; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands: Don Chrans and Bill Lilley; two daughters: Donna Chrans and Sharon Tiedtke; son, Donald Chrans; granddaughter, Shari; three sisters: Erma Monson, Helen Painter, and Evelyn Walker; three brothers: Woodrow, Mervin and Leslie Petersen; and son-in-law, Richard Ricke Obituary & Photo is from The Wintz & Ray Funeral Home
