(Source: U.S. & International Marriage Records) ======================================================== The Fairview Enterprise (Fairview, KS), Thursday, June 26, 1919; pg. 2 Rebecca Lyman was born May 22, 1838 and died June 20, 1919, being 81 years and 29 days old. She lived with her parents until her marriage to S.D. George February 18, 1862. Her husband, one son and two daughters had preceded her in death. One daughter, Irene, whose sudden death was such a shock to her, died six months ago. During her life her one great work was careing (sic) for the sick and many is the home where sickness and death entered that her gentle and tender care was manifest. She was very fond of little children and during her long illness she would be pleased when they would visit with her. She has been a member of the church from early childhood and her faith in the Lord was most true and strong. The last seven years she has been an invalid but her courage has never faltered. She is survived by four daughters, one son and one brother: Mrs. C.W. Gray of Solomon, Mrs. James Overfield of Robinson, Mrs. J.F. Anstey of Brookville and Miss Ann George, Chas. George and J.N. Lyman. Funeral services were held at the home Sunday afternoon at three o'clock, conducted by her pastor, Rev. Naefe of the Reformed church (sic). Mrs. C.B. Rooney and Mr. Hobbs sang. The body barers (sic) were her grandsons. The floral offering was most beautiful and profuse, requiring an automobile to carry them. Burial was made in the Old Fairview cemetery (sic).
