GOTTWALD DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS - Mrs. Anna Gottwald, age 80, died Friday afternoon at the home of Mrs. Viola Gerhart, 702 Second Avenue, where she made her home for the past three months. She was ill six months. Mrs. Gottwald was born in Germany, Sept. 6, 1866, the daughter of Anton and Johanna Seifert and came to Nebraska City in 1875. She married Albin Gottwald at St. Benedict's church, Nebraska City, in 1888. Mr. Gottwald died on a farm near Talmage, Oct. 25, 1937. [his tombstone: "Father b. 25 Oct. 1881- d. 25 Oct 1937"] Surviving children are: Adolph and Mrs. Tony Heng, Nebraska City; Mrs. Louis Ullsperger, Sterling; Mrs. Carl Kreifels, Nebraska City and Mrs. Victor Heng, Talmage. A son, Otto, is dead. One sister, Mrs. Marie Francis, Okmulgee, Okla., 13 grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic church and of the altar society of that church. Services will be held at St. Joseph's Catholic church, Monday at 10 a.m. with Rev. H. H. Ingenhorst officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph's cemetery. Pallbearers will be Alton Gottwald, Gerald Heng, Raymond and Leo Ullsperger, Fredolin Ramold and Herman DeRoe. St. Joseph's Altar Society will recite the Rosary at the home of Mr. Victor Heng Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
