She had been in failing health the last few years and passed away in Shady Oaks Nursing Home. Anna Sofia, daughter of Carl and Lena Plinke Stuve, was born at Sterling, Nebraska on June 22, 1889. She grew to young womanhood here, and on March 12, 1914 she was married to Godfrey Ziegler at George, Iowa. During the years of their marriage they resided at Creighton, Burchard, Cedar Bluffs and Sterling. Two children were born to them, a son Ryan, who lost his life in a sledding accident in 1926, and a daughter, Marianne, who survives her parents. Mr. Ziegler died in June of 1945. After his death Mrs. Ziegler made her home in Sterling until 1965, when because of failing health she moved to Abilene, Texas and for some time made her home with her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Hergenrader, until they could no longer care for her as her condition grew worse. Mrs. Ziegler was a member of St. John American Lutheran church and was active in the work of the church as long as her health permitted. She was a woman with a great sense of humor, and was always a good neighbor. Surviving besides her daughter and son-in-law are a grandson and a granddaughter, Jeffery and Beth Ann; also one sister, Mrs. Hattie Zink of Sterling and a brother, Paul Stuve of Scottsbluff. Funeral services were held Friday morning in the Zink Mortuary in Sterling, with the Rev. W. R. Debner officiating. Mrs. Raymond Schmidt was panist and Mrs. Belden Christline was soloist. Pallbearers were Dellen Berg, Ervin Berg, Beldin Christline, Gus Warnke, Otto Johnson and Norval Woltemath. Burial was in Sterling cemetery.
