Description	:	Mrs. William Wilmes Summoned by Death A pall of gloom was cast over the entire community on Wednesday, when the word was given out that Mrs. William wilmes had died at her home that morning at 1:30. Mrs. Wilmes had been ailing for the past four years, but her illness did not seem critical until the last three weeks, when she was confined to bed. Read More	Mrs. William Wilmes Summoned by Death A pall of gloom was cast over the entire community on Wednesday, when the word was given out that Mrs. William wilmes had died at her home that morning at 1:30. Mrs. Wilmes had been ailing for the past four years, but her illness did not seem critical until the last three weeks, when she was confined to bed. She had been to the hospital on different occasions in an effort to secure relief, but to no avail. Her passing was attributed to pernicious anemia. The deceased was born in Holland on August 30, 1871 and was 61 years and 8 days old. She came with her parents to America at the age of 11 years and resided at Neola, Ia. for a period of there years. The family then moved to Creighton in 1885 and settled on a farm near this city. In March 1895 Anna Veenker was united in marriage to Wm. Wilmes and to this union three children were born, one daughter, Adeline, dying at the age of 13 years. Surviving relatives besides her husband are one son, John, of Creighton; one daughter, Mrs. John Dohmen of Colome, S.D.; three grandchildren; three brothers, Barney and Fritz Veenker of this city and George Veenker of Newport, Nebr. One sister, a half brother and a half sister and her parents preceded her in death. Mrs. Wilmes had been a resident of this community for forty-six years, about six years ago, she with her husband bought a comfortable home in Creighton, where they have since resided. She was listed among the early pioneers of Knox county and suffered many hardships in the pioneer days., She was a devoted mother and a good neighbor and enjoyed the respect and friendship of everyone. Funeral services will be held on Friday from St. Ludger Catholic church. Father Windolph will be in charge of the services. The bereaved family have the sympathy of all in their sorrow.
