She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Howard in 2002, a grandson Tyler, twin sisters, Marie Posusta and Julia Waterbeck, and brothers, Joe and George Vavroch. Anna Vlasta Vavroch was born August 18, 1928 in rural Chelsea, the daughter of Charles and Anna Hayek Vavroch. She graduated from Tama High School and received her teaching degree from the Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls. Anna and Howard Olson were married on August 20, 1949 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Tama. Anna devoted her life to caring for her husband and children, and later worked at the Hartwick State Bank. Anna was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed summer vacations with her husband and children. She loved to go dancing with Howard, spend time in her garden, and play cards and BINGO with their friends. She especially loved the time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Anna was a member of the Ladies Red Hat Club in Victor, and the Altar and Rosary Guild of St. Bridget’s in Victor as well as St. Pat’s in Brooklyn. Source: Kloster Funeral Home, Brooklyn, IA
