Father Columba Kelly and Father Anthony L. Conrad officiated with burial in St. Bernard's Catholic Cemetery at Millersburg. Bearers were James Elwood, Richard Elwood, Michael Elwood, Frank Van Steenhuyse, Mike Barron and Dan Van Steenhuyse. She was born March 10, 1904 near Williamsburg, the daughter of John and Cecelia Elwood Kelly. She graduated from Parnell High School and later graduated from the University of Iowa. She taught in the Williamsburg school for several years and then attended the Peabody Institute at Nashville, Tenn., where she received her library specialist degree. She moved to Marshalltown where she was librarian in the Marshalltown School system, until retiring in 1970. Since 1985, she was a resident of Grandview Care Center. She was preceded in death by two sisters and a brother. Survivors include three sisters, Irene Singleton, Evelyn Lawler and Helen Shanahan, all of Des Moines and several nephews and nieces. from Marshalltown IA newspaper Times Republican dated December 3 1988
