Description	:	Anna Sell Obit Funeral services are being held today (Wednesday) for Mrs. Anna Sell, a resident of Seward county 63 years, who died Sunday, Jan. 20, 1957, at her home in Seward. A prayer service is being conducted at the home by Rev. Martin Yauk, preceding the service at St. John's Lutheran church at 2 p.m., officiated by Rev. R. J. Cattau. Upper grade children of St. John's school will sing "Rock of Ages," directed by Herman Schmieding. Pallbearers are six grandsons, Donald Bangert of Lincoln, Vernon Bangert, of Plattsmouth, Frederick Rolfsmeier of Milford, Neal Sell of Seward, Carl Schroeder of Milford, Arthur Nobbman of Pleasant Dale. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery. Survivors are five daughters, Mrs. Henry Rathe (Minnie), Sterling; Mrs. Will Jeary (Emma), Seward; Mrs. Fred Rolfsmeier (Alma), Milford, Mrs. Ed Bangert (Esther), Seward; Mrs. Leonard Kolterman (Eliza), Lincoln; two sons, Albert, Alamo, Tex.; Arthur, Milford; 13 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; one brother, August Wergin, Crete. Anna Wilhelmina Wergin was born in Pomerin, Germany, Aug. 9, 1864. A t the age of 8 she came to the United States with her parents and settled in Ottawa, IL. Later they lived in Wisconsin for a short time, going back to Ottawa, where she married John Sell on April 14, 1864. They came to Nebraska in 1893 and settled on a farm ½ mile east of Ruby, following her parents who had come here a short time before. In 1920 the Sells moved to a home on North Columbia Avenue in Seward where she passed away Sunday, Jan. 20, 1957, at the age of 92. It is a coincidence that Mr. Sell passed away on Jan. 25, 1950, at the age of 91. A daughter, Hattie, also preceded Mrs. Sell in death. Mrs. Sell had been quite active for her age until the last two months when she became seriously ill and was cared for by her daughters, Mrs. Jeary, and Mrs. Rathe.
