Read More	Anna Bridges, 80, of Oskaloosa, died of a pulmonary embolism Monday, April 9, 2012, at Crystal Heights Care Center in Oskaloosa. She was born November 23, 1931, at Ottumwa, the daughter of Leo Scott and Eva Frances Burke Smith. She graduated from the Chariton High School with the class of 1950. On September 6, 1957, she was united in marriage to Fred Bridges at the Central United Methodist Church in Oskaloosa; and they later divorced. Early on she worked as a volunteer for the Red Cross at the Naval Hospital in Tennessee. She was a Navy wife, and homemaker for many years. Anna was a poll attendant at the 1st Ward voting precinct in Oskaloosa. She was a member of the Lady Eagles and delighted in spending time with her family. Anna enjoyed living at Norwich Apartments, and spending time with her many friends and neighbors. Her family includes her three children and their spouses, Kim and David Hols of Runnells, Danny and Teri Bridges of Oskaloosa and Karen and Jim Reeves of Leighton, six grandchildren, Kristi(Kevin)Berg, Justin(Courtney)Braden, Jessica Reeves, Clint Reeves, Eric Bridges, and Shane Bridges; five great grandchildren; and two step grandsons, Landon Van Dyke and Logan Van Dyke. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Darren Bridges; a half-sister: June Larson; and two half-brothers, Max and James Buckingham. Funeral services will be held Friday, April 13, 2012, at 7 pm in the Bates Funeral Chapel with Reverend Del Bittner officiating. As was Anna's wish her body will be cremated following the funeral ceremony, and burial of the cremated remains will be in the Forest Cemetery at a later date. The Bates Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements. Visitation will begin Friday morning after 10 am with family from 5-7 pm. Memorials may be made to Crystal Heights Care Center Activity Fund.
