She would have celebrated her ninety-second birthday October 29. A native of Czechoslovakia, she was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Zeman. She grew to young womanhood there and was married to Mr. Moravec in that country. They came to America 57 years ago and located in the Plasi vicinity. Since the death of her husband in March, 1937, she had lived with her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Moravec. Mrs. Moravec is survived by 113 direct descendants, including eight living children and grandchildren to the fifth generation. The children include two sons, James of Ulysses and Joseph; and six daughters, Mrs. Frank Helman of Brainard, Mrs. August Chmelka of Dwight, Mrs. Joe Jisa, Sr., of David City, Mrs. Charles Hottovy, Sr., of Ulysses, Mrs. William Jackley of Carroll, Iowa, and Mrs. Emil Krenk of Fremont. Two daughters, Kathryn and Mrs. Agnes Pospichal, preceded her in death. The oldest of five Zeman children, Mrs. Moravec was the only surviving member of her family. Funeral services were held in Assumption church Thursday morning, Sept. 22, and burial was in St. Mary's cemetery. The Rt. Rev. Msgr. V. P. Mlejnek offered Requiem High Mass and conducted the last rites at the grave. The church choir, with Sister Juliana, organist, furnished the music. The pallbearers were six grandsons, Clarence Humlicek, Frank Helman, Sr., Richard Moravec, Charles D. Hottovy, Joe Chmelka and Lad Jisa. Msgr. Mlejnek preached the funeral the sermon depicting the fine qualities of Mrs. Moravec, and the good deeds done during her long life. He told of her activities in the church and her kindness to her family and friends. Members of St. Lucy's society, with which Mrs. Moravec was affiliated, had part in the funeral service. Besides the relatives in attendance from Butler county at the funeral services, there were also relatives present from a distance, including: Mr. and Mrs. William Jackley and daughter, Joan; and Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Humlicek of Carroll, Iowa; Miss Alice Humlicek of Laurens, Iowa; Mr. and Mrs. Wenceslaus Semrad of Waukomis, Okla.; Mr. and Mrs. Emil Krenk of Fremont; Mr. and Mrs. Joe Spitalnik, Mrs. Charles Moravec and Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Smola of Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. Emil Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Will Johnson, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Johnson, Mrs. Emfred Swanson of Wahoo; Mr. and Mrs. Rudolph Dvoracek of Ceresco; Mrs. Lucy Augusta of Lincoln; Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Kastl and Barbara, Mrs. Aloysia Kastl, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Makovicka, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Sedlak, Mrs. Katie Krenk, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Styskal, of Bee; Mrs. Joe Coufal of Bruno.
