OGS website 3 Sep 2010: Relatives here have received word of the death of Mrs Ann Elizabeth Drake Jones, which occurred at her home at St. Edward, Boone County, Nebraska, on Dec. 15, 1916. Mrs. Jones was formerly of this county, her maiden name being Ann Elizabeth Drake, a daughter of the late James and Alice Drake, of Penn townshhip and a sister of the late Harrison Drake, of Malta, James Drake, of McConnelsville, and Frank Drake, of Columbus, all of whom have died in the past few years-the latter's death occuring last... OGS website 3 Sep 2010: Relatives here have received word of the death of Mrs Ann Elizabeth Drake Jones, which occurred at her home at St. Edward, Boone County, Nebraska, on Dec. 15, 1916. Mrs. Jones was formerly of this county, her maiden name being Ann Elizabeth Drake, a daughter of the late James and Alice Drake, of Penn townshhip and a sister of the late Harrison Drake, of Malta, James Drake, of McConnelsville, and Frank Drake, of Columbus, all of whom have died in the past few years-the latter's death occuring last spring. Other brothers and sisters of the deceased were Eden J. Drake, George Drake, Jefferson Drake, killed in the war, Mrs Lydia Milton, Mrs Jane Anguish and Mrs Elizabeth Best. She was united in marriage to Joshua H Jones, Feb. 1, 1866, and after their marriage they resided in Malta, Ohio, until March of 1879, when they moved to Osceola, Polk county, Neb., at which place they lived until the death of her husband in October of 1892. Later she moved to St. Edward, Boone county, Nebraska, where she resided until her death. She was the mother of three children-Thomas Jefferson Jones, of St. Edward, Neb., Mary Alice Utterback, of Omaha, Neb., and James Stephen Jones, all of whom are living and were at her beside during her last illness and death, which occurred at the home of her son, James S. Jones. As a mother she was kind and patient, and her earnest desire was to always extend a helping hand or speak kindly to those around her, and no ordeal was too severe for her when administering to the welfare of her family. She was a member of the Baptist church, having united with that denomination at an early age. The remains were laid to rest by the side of her husband in the cemetery at Osceola, Nebraska
