She married John Benest Oct. 4, 1953, in Minot. They lived in Fargo for a time until returning to Minot. He died Feb. 9, 1984. She remained in Minot. She married Anton Bauer June 18, 1988, in Minot. They have lived in Kenmare since. She was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and Senior Citizens Club, all Kenmare; a past president and member of the PEO and a member of the VFW Auxiliary in Kenmare and Minot. She was a founder and 30-member of the Sweet Adelines, past matron of the Venice Chapter 14 Order of the Eastern Star and had been a longtime member of Vincent United Methodist Church, all Minot. Survivors: husband; daughters, Linda Homeier, Springfield, Ill., Leanne LaClair, Marathon, Fla., Jane Hammer, Kim Wilson, both Minot; stepdaughters, Alyce Huber, Mary Ann Seitz, both Great Falls, Mont.; stepson, George Bauer, Kenmare; 19 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother, Peter, Corpus Christi, Texas.
