Description	:	Friday evening, July 2, 1920, at 8:15, the silent messenger came and gathered the departing spirit of Grandma Boltz, aged, loved and respected citizen of our town. For the past five yars, Grandma Boltz had been ailing from arteric sclerosis and her last confining sickness was of four month's duration. Mary Kolhas was born in Luxemborg, Germany, February 2, 1945. Here her early life was spent. In 1863, she married Henry Boltz. She was the mother of eighteen children, eight of whom survive her, eight dying in infancy and two preceding her after reaching their estate. The family had spent two years in... For the past five yars, Grandma Boltz had been ailing from arteric sclerosis and her last confining sickness was of four month's duration. Mary Kolhas was born in Luxemborg, Germany, February 2, 1945. Here her early life was spent. In 1863, she married Henry Boltz. She was the mother of eighteen children, eight of whom survive her, eight dying in infancy and two preceding her after reaching their estate. The family had spent two years in South America. Later, returning to Luxemborg for a six month stay before immigrating to the United States. On coming to this country about thirty years ago, they homesteaded near Verdel, Nebr., where her husband died two years later. Mrs. Boltz moved to Creighton in 1908, where she has since made her home. Grandma Boltz was a much loved and revered woman, who has won friendship by her kindly acts and deeds, such thing being only a natural part of her. During the 75 years span of her life, she never shirked the duty to which her life had been given. The friendly spirit that marked her relations with all whom she came in contact with made Grandma Boltz a most remarkable woman. The surviving children are Margaret Wagner, Creighton, Peter Boltz, Plainview; Mike Boltz, Lynch; Mary Gengler, Verdel; Chris Boltz, Plainview, S.D.; Sister Mary Louis, Los Angeles, Calif, Virginia Galles, Remsen, Ia. All were present at the funeral except Chris Boltz. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and four great grandchildren. The funeral was held from St. Ludger Catholic Church at 9:00 Monday conducted by Father Windolph. Interment was made in the Catholic Cemetery.
