Born on Aug. 9, 1920, in Kitzmiller, Anne was the fifth child of Mary Ellen and Samuel Weatherholt and grew up in Cumberland, Md. She was preceded in death by her brothers Alan, Bill, and Ray Weatherholt and by her husband Col. Robert W. Conant. Read More	FALLS CHURCH, Va. — Annie Alice Conant, of Falls Church, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2011, in Virginia Hospital Center, Arlington, Va., after a short illness. Born on Aug. 9, 1920, in Kitzmiller, Anne was the fifth child of Mary Ellen and Samuel Weatherholt and grew up in Cumberland, Md. She was preceded in death by her brothers Alan, Bill, and Ray Weatherholt and by her husband Col. Robert W. Conant. Anne was employed by the Army Corps of Engineers from 1946 to 1967, for many years as executive secretary to the Chief of the Corps of Engineers. She worked for the Department of Housing and Urban Development in San Francisco from 1967 to 1971. After returning to Cumberland in 1977, Anne served as elder for the First Presbyterian Church and also served on their Pastor Nominating Committee. Since moving to Falls Church in 1983, Anne was active in the community, serving with the Falls Church Village Preservation and Improvement Society, the Falls Church Recycling and Litter Prevention Council and the Musical History Division of the Smithsonian American History Museum. Anne was a valuable participant in the Smithsonian’s Steinway Diary project. She was a longtime member of Falls Church Presbyterian Church. Surviving are one son, Gordon Adler and daughter-in-law Pam of Vienna; one grandson, Christopher Adler and wife Supeena; one granddaughter Jennifer Mathers and husband Rolland. Also surviving are one brother, Sherman Weatherholt and half siblings, Frank, John and Mark Weatherholt, Betty Richtmeyer and Sue Rowe. A memorial service and celebration of her life will be held March 15, 2011, 11 a.m. at Falls Church Presbyterian Church, Falls Church. Interment will be at the Hillcrest Memorial Park, Cumberland. In lieu of flowers, it is requested that any memorial gifts be directed to Falls Church Presbyterian Church. Published on March 9, 2011
