Description	:	Annie came to Alberta with her parents and grandparents, from Prince Edward Island, when she was 10 years old. She attended Science Mound School, after moving here from PEI. As a young career woman she worked in the Post Office, in Red Willow Alberta. Annie had met Earl at a Christmas concert at the Science Mound School, when she was 20 years of age, and married him when she was 22. She was a good farmers wife - milked cows, raised chickens and turkeys, drove tractor, combined, fed pigs, as well as caring for a huge garden and... Read More	Annie came to Alberta with her parents and grandparents, from Prince Edward Island, when she was 10 years old. She attended Science Mound School, after moving here from PEI. As a young career woman she worked in the Post Office, in Red Willow Alberta. Annie had met Earl at a Christmas concert at the Science Mound School, when she was 20 years of age, and married him when she was 22. She was a good farmers wife - milked cows, raised chickens and turkeys, drove tractor, combined, fed pigs, as well as caring for a huge garden and a lovely flower garden, Her favorites were gladiolas, hollyhocks and dahlias. Annie spun her own wool on an old spinning wheel, as well as canning, sewing, gardening and farm work. Because power was not available in the rural communities until the late 40's, and the cost of each power pole cost something in the range of $500.00 each, Earl and Annie did not obtain power until approximately 1952. Work for her was arduous because of no power nor running water, nor bathroom facilities. Power was added to the original house in 1952, but tap water and bathroom facilities were not added. Her and her husband had a house moved on to their property in 1966 and then they had running water and a bathroom! She played the piano by ear - mostly hymns - and always had a baked goodie in the house for drop-in-visitors. Annie was 5'2" tall, medium dark hair, hazel eyes,and a happy-go-lucky nature.
