Kenney, died late last night at her home, 7 Market Street, after a short illness. A native of Ireland, Mrs. Kenney was a daughter of the late John and Elizabeth McGreevy. Before coming to this city she resided in Midland. Mrs. Kenney was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic church. Kenney, this city; three daughters, Miss Loretta M. Kenney, at home, and Mrs. Joseph A. Madden and Mrs. William E. McCleary, both of Cumberland; two sisters, Mrs. John Kirk, of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Mrs. James Bryson, this city, and four grandchildren. A requiem mass will be held Monday at 9 a.m. in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, with interment in the church cemetery." Sunday Times, Cumberland, Maryland, December 16, 1945: "A solemn high mass will be held tomorrow morning at 9 o'clock in St. Patrick's Catholic church for Mrs. Annie B. Kenney, 74, widow of Jamed D. Kenney, who died late Wednesday evening at her home, 7 Market street. The Rev. Charles W. Bogan, assistant pastor, will be celebrant, and interment will follow in the church cemetery. Among Mrs. Kenney's survivors are four grandchildren. They are John Joseph Kenney, Jr., Joy Lee Kenney Dixon, Joseph G. Madden and Mary Rita Madden. Members of Court Cardinal Gibbons, No. 529, Catholic Daughters of America, will meet tonight at 7 o'clock at the home to recite the rosary." Note: Her obituary and her death certificate show she is a native of Ireland, which is incorrect. She was actually born in England but her parents were from Ireland. I have her birth certificate and baptismal record. Her son, James, is the informant on her death certificate and he shows her birth date as June 1871; this is incorrect. Her baptismal record from St. Cuthbert's in England shows her correct birth date and that is the date I have used here.
