Description	:	RANDLEMAN — Annie Cornelia Robbins Newby, 88, of Sophia, passed from this life to be with her Jesus, Monday, May 14, 2012, at her home. Mrs. Newby loved her family and her God. One of her favorite pastimes was canning vegetables grown by her husband, Garland, and son, Jerry. She was preceded in death by her parents, Irvin and Alma Bridges Robbins. The family wants to extend a special thanks for the loving care given to their mother by Hospice and especially nurse Glenda Swails and CNA Amanda Cheek. Read More	RANDLEMAN — Annie Cornelia Robbins Newby, 88, of Sophia, passed from this life to be with her Jesus, Monday, May 14, 2012, at her home. Mrs. Newby loved her family and her God. She is survived by her husband, Garland Newby of the home; children, Jerry Newby of Sophia, Louise N. Brim and her husband, R.J., of Sophia, Paul Newby and his wife, Ramona, of Sophia, Bonnie N. Laughlin of Asheboro and Peggy N. Hinshaw and her husband, Gary, of Randleman; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Treva Browder of Winston-Salem and Betty Ogle and her husband, Bruce, of Randleman; and brother, Aaron Robbins and his wife, Claudia, of Randleman. The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 16, 2012, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Pugh Funeral Home, 600 S. Main St., Randleman, N.C., and other times at the home. The funeral will be held Thursday, May 17, 2012, at 4 p.m. at Sophia Baptist Church, 4082 Millikan Road, Sophia, with the Rev. Bill Barnes and Ashton Loyd officiating. Burial will follow at Old Union United Methodist Church cemetery, Sophia. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Randolph, P.O. Box 9, Asheboro, NC 27204-0009.
