Description	:	2 Feb 1950 Mrs. Annie Eliza Smith, 90, died Jan. 27 at 2 a.m. at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Charles Curry, near Delta after an extended illness. Her entire life was spent in Keokuk and Mahaska counties. Mrs. Smith was born May 23, 1859, at New Sharon, the daughter of Archibald and Sarah Parr. She was married Dec. 25, 1881. Her entire life was spent in Keokuk and Mahaska counties. Mrs. Smith was born May 23, 1859, at New Sharon, the daughter of Archibald and Sarah Parr. She was married Dec. 25, 1881. Survivors are two daughteres, Mrs. Curry of Delta, and Mrs. Walter Fern of Grant Pass, Ore; two sons, Archie Smith of What Cheer and John W. Smith of Iowa City. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Smith; two brothers and three sisters, two of her infant children also died. Mrs. Smith was the last member of her family. For a time the Smiths lived around Montezuma and Barnes City, but lived in What Cheer 49 years. They spent five years in Idaho, traveling in covered wagon. They also spent a year in Oregon. Their years in Idaho were marked by much hardship. The funeral was Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Whyle funeral chapel in What Cheer with service by the Rev. A. Ranzau of St. Martin Lutheran church, What Cheer. Burial was at Springfield cemetery. Casket bearers were Burdette Curry, Marlene Curry, Alex Henry, Fred Masters, Forest Masters, and Arlo Hunt. Mrs. Sam Herrmann was soloist, Mrs. Fred Crane pianist.
