Mrs. Anna Michels, one of our highly esteemed residents, passed away at 5:32 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, following a heart attack at Memorial hospital where she had been a patient for nearly a week. Mrs. Michels had been in poor health for some years but had been able to be about the home until about two months ago. Mrs. Anna Michels, one of our highly esteemed residents, passed away at 5:32 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, following a heart attack at Memorial hospital where she had been a patient for nearly a week. Mrs. Michels had been in poor health for some years but had been able to be about the home until about two months ago. She was a loving woman ever thinking of the welfare of her family, and was a fine neighbor. The body is resting at the Dye Funeral Home until Saturday when services will be held at 9:00 o'clock at St. Joseph's Catholic Church with a nephew Rev. Leo Entringer of Sherill celebrating the requiem mass. Burial will beside the remains of her husband who passed away March 16, 1926. Six grandsons Orville Michels, Orville Faller, Alvin Medinger, Floyd Scholtes, Leslie Michels and Thomas Michels will bear the body to its last resting place. Anna Entringer was born March 26, 1869 at Springbrook, a daughter of Michael and Susan Penny Entringer. She received her education in the parochial school at Springbrook. On Dec. 26, 1887 she became the wife of John P. Michels, the ceremony being performed in SS. Peter & Paul's Church at Springbrook the Rev. Father Knapstein officiating. Their home was made at Springbrook until March 1919 when they moved to Bellevue. She was a devout member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church, and was a Gold Star mother. She is survived by thirteen children, Mrs. Susan Schenk of Dubuque, Mrs. Mary Medinger of Bellevue, Mike Michels of Dubuque, Peter Michels of Bellevue, Mrs. Harold Yeager of Bellevue, Mrs. Leo Feller of Maquoketa, John Michels of Spragueville, Joseph Michels of Springbrook, Anthony Michels of Bellevue, Mrs. Albert Feller of Springbrook, Mrs. Leo Helmle of Spragueville, Mrs. Edwin White of Clinton and Mrs. Alvina Cloos at home; 56 grandchildren, 72 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Catherine Regenwether of Spragueville, Mrs. Mary Moch of Dubuque and Mrs. John Erpelding of Estehrville and two brothers, Jacob Entringer of Dubuque and Nick Entringer of Sioux Falls, S.D.
