Read More	MACLEOD GAZETTE - ONLINE NAMES OF SURVIVING FAMILY MEMBERS DELETED AS PER FAG RULES Annie Katrina Zam, beloved wife of James Zam of Fort Macleod, passed away in Lethbridge on Saturday, March 20, 2004, at the age of 80 years. Annie was born in Radosina, Czechoslovakia on Nov. 21, 1923. She immigrated to Canada in May 1934 with her parents and two brothers. They arrived in Montreal, travelled across Canada by train to Fort Macleod, then settled at Pincher Station. There, Annie was raised with her brothers and sister. There were seven children. She attended school there and helped her teacher with various jobs. On May 1, 1943, Annie married James Zam, who had also immigrated to Pincher Station. Later, they moved to a farm west of Fort Macleod. In 1960, they moved into town. Annie cooked many a meal for her family and always served enough to “feed an army.” Her door was always open to everyone and the coffee pot was always on. Annie made the best “apple pie” in North America and she showed her hospitality to all who visited her. Annie was a whiz at crocheting and always had a tablecloth on the go. She loved flowers and her garden, as well as her doll collection. She could play the piano and loved music. Annie was a “Special Lady” and a very giving person. She was a gifted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, who always had a smile and a cheery word for everyone. She will be greatly missed by all her family, friends, relatives and “Coffee Ladies.” Annie is survived by her husband James. Annie was predeceased by an infant son; her parents, John and Katrina Pansky; her brother Leslie; sister Mary; brother-in-law Willie Sup and nephew Kelley Pansky. A prayer service was held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Fort Macleod on Wednesday, March 24 at 7 p.m. A funeral mass was celebrated at Holy Cross Church on Thursday, March 25 at 11 a.m. with Father Maurice Joly officiating. Interment in Union Cemetery.
