Description	:	WESTFIELD, NC ~ Mrs. Annie Laura Frans Smith, 87, of Westfield went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday afternoon, June 26, 2007, at Duke-Raleigh Hospital, Raleigh, after a lengthy illness. A native of Stokes County, she was born Sept. 6, 1919, to the late Grover Frans and Nannie Flippin Riddle. She was a devoted homemaker, loving neighbor and a member of Westfield Baptist Church, where she enjoyed teaching Sunday school for many years. Read More	WESTFIELD, NC ~ Mrs. Annie Laura Frans Smith, 87, of Westfield went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday afternoon, June 26, 2007, at Duke-Raleigh Hospital, Raleigh, after a lengthy illness. A native of Stokes County, she was born Sept. 6, 1919, to the late Grover Frans and Nannie Flippin Riddle. She was a devoted homemaker, loving neighbor and a member of Westfield Baptist Church, where she enjoyed teaching Sunday school for many years. Mrs. Smith was a past worthy matron in Pilot Mountain Chapter 23 Order of the Eastern Star. Survivors include her daughter, Teresa Smith Maxwell, of Raleigh; sisters and brother-in-law Edith Riddle of Winston Salem and Wilma Ball and husband Herman of Mount Airy; sister-in-law Ruth Smith of Westfield; four nieces; and four nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her husband, James Wallace Smith Sr.; son James Wallace Smith Jr.; and two sisters, Jamie Schofield and Earlene Taylor. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, June 29, at Westfield Baptist Church, Westfield, with the Rev. Joel Stephens officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Rites will be conducted by Pilot Mountain Chapter 23 Order of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Smith will be placed in the church 30 minutes before the funeral service. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon Friday, June 29, at Howell-Nelson Funeral Home of Pilot Mountain.
