Description	:	Anna Magdaline Sloan, eldest daughter of J.W. and Elizabeth Sloan, was born in Zanesville, Ohio, February 19, 1868, and departed this life at her home near Drakesville, about 9 o’clock April 10, 1933, at the age of 65 years, 1 month, and 19 days. She came with her parents to Iowa in a covered wagon when 6 months old. They settled in Davis County where she spent most of her life. She was united in marriage to James Francis Wilcox, November 12, 1889. To this union 9 children were born, four daughters and five sons. ... Her husband, one son, William Henry, and one daughter, Dorothy Fae, preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn their loss, 3 daughters, Mrs. Mae Harris of Blakesburg, Iowa; Mrs. Cecil Steele of Bloomfield; Mrs. Alma Wheeler, of Drakesville; four sons, Mark, Charles, Lafe and Paul at home; one step-daughter, Mrs. Jennie Bond of Chicago, Illinois; also her father, Mr. J.W. Sloan; four brothers, two sisters and eight grandchildren. She placed her trust in God and was united with the Christian Church of Drakesville, in her early days. She has been an invalid for the past two years, being bedfast most of the time. She was cared for by her younger sons. One of her greatest pleasures was to have her children with her and even in her last days she thought of the comfort of others. Her children were all with her in her last illness. Funeral services were held at the Drakesville Church of Christ, at 2 o’clock Tuesday, April 11, 1933, conducted by Elder J.W. Altheide of Bloomfield. Interment was in the Breeding Cemetery.
