The funeral of the late Miss Annie Reinke(victim of the recent burning fatality) took place on Saturday after noon last. Deceased's Sunday-school companions marched in front of the hearse to the grave-yard, where the last sad rites were performed by the Rev. l. Frank. Deceased had only a few days previous to her death cele brated her 11th birthday, and was shortly to have been confirmed in the German Lutheran Church. Queensland Times dated 27th October 1911: Magisterial Inquiry A magisterial inquiry into the cause of the death of Annie Martha, Reinke was (writes our Marburg correspond ent under yesterday's date) held at the Police Court to-day before Mr. M. Purdon. Carl Heinrich Reinke deposed: I am a farmer residing at Marburg. On Thursday, the 14th day of Septem ber last, at 2 p.m. I went to a pad dock situated. about half-a-mile from my place of residence. I was harrow ing in tle paddock on this day, my daughter Annie Martha being with me. She was gathering up the grass from the harrows. The grass was in heaps, and my daughter said she would set fire to the few remaining heaps of grass while I continued harrowing. Shortly after this, while I was at the lower end of the paddock, I heard my daughter cry out. She was then about two chains from me. She commenced to run in the opposite direction to me, and I saw that her clothes were on fire. I ran after her, and had run about 60 yards before I over took her. I tried to pull her burning clothes off. I then saw she was burnt about the right side of the face, and her head, arms, thighs, and breast were also badly burnt. When I saw that her clothes were on fire I called out to my daughter to come to me. Harry Dilger, my neighbour, quickly came to my assistance Mr Muche brought down a stretcher, and we carried her home . I at once sent for Dr Sirois, who did all he could for her. She died at 9.30 pm. on the same day. Dr Sirois gave a certificate, stating that the cause of death was extensive burns of varying degrees, involving more than half of the body over-heating of the blood, and cardiac paralysis . I had both my own hands severely burnt, in re moving the burning clothes from off my daughter, in consequence of which I have been under the Doctor's care ever since, and I am still unable to work. I asked my daughter the cause of the accident, and she stated she did not know. She was 11 years and two days old at the time of her Death. My daughter was born at Marburg. Hermann Dilger , who witnessed the accident also gave corroborative , evi dence, after which the injury was closed.
