Mrs. Ward was born in Williamsburg County near Kingstree on October 17, 1915, a daughter of the late Robert Howard and Mable Walters Howard. Mrs. Ward was born in Williamsburg County near Kingstree on October 17, 1915, a daughter of the late Robert Howard and Mable Walters Howard. She grew up in Williamsburg County and lived in Georgetown most of her life. Mrs. Ward was a member of the First Baptist Church and the Esther Sunday School Class. She was the widow of Cornelius "Ned" Ward who died September 27, 1983. Surviving are two sons, Kent Ward and his wife, Elaine C. Ward, and Donald W. Ward and his wife, Barbara S. Ward, all of Georgetown; a daughter, Emily W. Inman and her husband, Julius Inman, Jr., of Georgetown; a (half) brother, Kelso L. Cantley of Surfside Beach; two (half) sisters, Velma Reta C. Joyner of Charleston and Hazeline C. Morris of Andrews; her care-giver, Rhoda Lee of Andrews; six grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Friday afternoon, June 8, 2001, at 3 o'clock at the First Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Dr. Ted A. Sherrell. Burial will follow in Pennyroyal Memorial Gardens under the direction of the Georgetown Chapel of Mayer Funeral Home. The Post and Courier, Thursday, June 7, 2001.
