Ansel married Mary Madeline Herrington on May 25, 1945 and she preceded him in death on March 31, 2011. Ansel married Mary Madeline Herrington on May 25, 1945 and she preceded him in death on March 31, 2011. A graduate of Troy Academy, Ansel was a World War II veteran having served in the U.S. Army 34th Infantry "Red Bull" Division. Ansel was a devout Christian, attending the First Church of the Open Bible and First Pentecostal Assembly of God where he served as a deacon. He was a member of U.A.W. Local #74 and Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars. Surviving are grandsons, Brent (Jackie) Moughler of Ottumwa and Brian (Kathy) Moughler of Florence, KY; daughter-in-law, Nancy Moughler of Ottumwa; 4 great-grandchildren, Lucas Moughler, Macayla (Devon) Conder, Eli Moughler, Olivia Moughler; 3 great-great-grandchildren, Logan, Khloe and Madaline. He was preceded in death by a son, Stephen Moughler; infant daughters, Joy and Joan Moughler; a great-grandson, Logan Moughler; brothers, Earl and John Moughler. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Reece Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery with military services conducted by Walter B. Schafer Post #775 Veterans of Foreign Wars and O.B. Nelson Post #3 American Legion. Visitation begins at 11 a.m. Monday with the family present from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Monday. Memorials may be made to Boys & Girls Missionary Challenge or Speed the Light Missions.
