Published in the Piscataquis (ME) Observer 19 Aug 1858 p3: "DEATHS---In Sebec, on the 14th inst., Mr. Anson Brown, formerly of this town [Dover], aged 48 years. We seldom announce the decease of a fellow citizen with more regret than we experience in recording the death of Mr. Brown; and we are confident our feelings will be shared by this community. Possessed of an amiable disposition, of great uprightness and integrity of character, faithful in the discharge of his duties in all the relations of life, he was esteemed by all who knew him. His death occasions a loss to the community of a worthy citizen; to the religious society with which he was connected of a faithful and beloved member; to his family, a devoted father, an affectionate brother, and a dear friend. He had many friends and no enemies. May the God of all consolation sanctify this afflictive bereavement to all who mourn."
