Description	:	Anthony "Bid" Hasselo Mr. Anthony Hasselo, 87, of Orange City passed away Friday, January 20 at Marian Health Center in Sioux City after a short illness. Anthony, who was known as "Bid", was born March 12, 1901 at Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Gerrit Hasselo and Alice Postma Hasselo. He moved to Sioux Center in 1909 and graduated from the Sioux Center High School in 1920 He then attended Des Moines University for three years and graduated from their School of Pharmacy. Read More	Anthony "Bid" Hasselo Mr. Anthony Hasselo, 87, of Orange City passed away Friday, January 20 at Marian Health Center in Sioux City after a short illness. Anthony, who was known as "Bid", was born March 12, 1901 at Cleveland, Ohio, the son of Gerrit Hasselo and Alice Postma Hasselo. He moved to Sioux Center in 1909 and graduated from the Sioux Center High School in 1920 He then attended Des Moines University for three years and graduated from their School of Pharmacy. In 1928 he moved to Orange City and became employed at Lubbers' Pharmacy. On May 27, 1930 he married Elsie Angeline Boeyink at Sioux Center. In 1943 he was appointed City Clerk for the City of Orange City, a position he held until retiring in July of 1966. Mr. and Mrs. Hasselo both became residents of the Pioneer Memorial Home in Orange City in 1985. He was a member of the American Reformed Church of Orange City for sixty years and had served on the church's consistory as a deacon For over fifty years, he was a. member of Floyd Lodge 537 A.F. and A.M. and Century Chapter 298 of the Eastern Star, both of Orange City. He also belonged to the Abu Bekr Shrine Temple in Sioux City. Survivors include his wife Elsie; and brother Raymond Hasselo of Minot, North Dakota. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorials are being directed to the American Reformed Church or the Shrine Childrens Hospital. Funeral services were held Monday, Jan. 23 at the American Reformed Church in Orange City with the Rev. Marlin Vander Wilt officiating. Interment followed at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Sioux Center under the direction of the Van Etten-Oolman-Van Gelder Funeral Home of Orange City.
