Description	:	Anthony Fred "Tony" Maloley, 75, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska, from injuries he received from being thrown from his horse on June 21st. Read More	Anthony Fred "Tony" Maloley, 75, of Lexington, Nebraska, died Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska, from injuries he received from being thrown from his horse on June 21st. He was born February 18, 1931, on the Maloley family farm east of Lexington. He was the third of five children born to Assad (Fred) and Julia. The children attended school at District South #17. With his siblings and cousins, Anthony worked in the family fields of corn, vegetables, and melons. One of his earliest and fondest memories was cuddling up at night with his grandmother Selma from age one, and reciting the Lord's prayer in Arabic with her before they went to sleep. He also enjoyed playing the violin as a boy in the family band. Anthony was baptized and was a member of St. George Orthodox Church, Kearney, his entire life. On July 8, 1970, he married Beverly Yeutter. They raised three children on their farm east of Lexington. With his brothers, Anthony ran a successful farming and livestock feeding operation. Anthony raised and trained quarter horses, and was a longtime member of the quarter horse association. He won trophies at regional quarter horse shows and rodeos for many events including reining, barrel racing, and bull riding. He volunteered to help with 4-H horse events. He served two years in Nebraska's National Guard, where he received awards for marksmanship and boxing. His powerful left jab took him to numerous district boxing championships, and on to the Golden Gloves tournament in Omaha. He was a proud member of the Thistle Masonic Lodge in Lexington. Even more so after his retirement, he enjoyed gardening, finding bargains at auctions, trading and restoring antiques, and lending a hand to neighbors. He was generous in sharing the vegetables he raised, and was always willing to help others. Anthony will be missed by his family and friends until we meet again in Glory. Survivors include his wife, Beverly Maloley of Lexington; sons, Anthony and Thomas Maloley of Omaha, Nebraska; daughter, Candace (Thomas) Holtzen of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Casper, Peter, Christian, and Thea Holtzen of Oconomowoc, Wisconsin; sister, Sally (Jim) Meehan of Denver, Colorado; and brothers, George Maloley of Lexington and Fay (Kay) Maloley of Lexington. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Esa. Funeral Services will be Saturday, July 22, 2006, at 2 p.m. at First Christian Church in Lexington with The Very Rev. Father Don Hock officiating. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery at Lexington. Memorials are suggested to the family for later designation. Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington is in charge of arrangements.
