He worked in Davenport, Iowa for a short time and in 1951 he entered the Air National Guard. He was honorable discharged in 1954. Tony was born on May 11, 1930 in Holstein, NE to Theodore and Katherine (Maystadt) Miller. Tony grew up in the Norman, Nebraska area and graduated from Minden (NE.) High School in 1949. He worked in Davenport, Iowa for a short time and in 1951 he entered the Air National Guard. He was honorable discharged in 1954. On October 17, 1953 he married Dorothy Munk at Holy Family Catholic Church, Heartwell, Nebraska. They farmed in the Minden-Norman, Nebraska area. They moved into Minden, Nebraska and Tony later owned and operated Stadler Implement, retiring in 2000. Tony was an active member of the St. John's Catholic Church, Minden, Nebraska having served on many committees and boards within the church. He was a 4th Degree in the Knights of Columbus, member of the American Legion Post #94, Minden, Nebraska which he was the past commander and past Kearney County, Nebraska Commander and member of the Color Guard for many years, past member and an assistant fire chief with the Minden (NE.) Volunteer Fire Department, had served on the Kearney County (NE.) Veterans Service Board and the Minden (NE.) Airport Authority. Tony had coached Legion Baseball and had served as a Cub Scout Leader. Tony was an avid Nebraska football fan and Minden Whippet fan. He enjoyed golfing, playing cards, playing baseball, cooking and talking to his friends. Most of all he loved his family, following his children and grandchildren in all their activities. Survivors are: wife, Dorothy Miller of Minden, Nebraska; daughters, Shellie Berry and husband, Steve of Kearney, Nebraska, Nance Sinsel and husband, Carl of Minden, Nebraska and Jennifer Miller and husband, Don of Minden, Nebraska; sons, Jeff Miller and wife, Diane of Minden, Nebraska, Lt. Colonel Matt Miller and wife, Michelle of Colorado Springs, Colorado and Mike Miller and wife, Shannan of Hutchinson, Kanasas; grandchildren, Steven Berry and wife, Lindsey, Lyndsey Berry, Megan Berry, Morgan Sinsel, Thomas Sinsel, Jarred Miller, MaShayla Miller, Katie Schmidt and husband, Shane, Jaimie Miller and fiancée, Jake Van Lent, Conner Miller, Katherine Miller, Hannah Miller, Gus Miller, Tyce Miller, Halle Miller, Brenden Miller and Isaac Miller; great grandchildren, Cohen Schmidt, Camdon Schmidt, Tyler Berry and Alex Berry; brother, Joe Miller and wife, Evelyn of North Platte, Nebraska; sister, Helen Vieger of Dallas, Texas and a host of relatives and friends. Tony was preceded in death by: parents; grandchildren, Brett and Crystina Sinsel and Thomas Miller; two brothers and two sisters. Burial was in the Minden Cemetery, Minden, Nebraska, with Military Rites provided by the Minden (NE.) American Legion, Heartwell (NE.) VFW and the U.S. Army National Guard.
