Description	:	Anthony "Bud" John Goedken, 87, of Manchester, passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021 at the Edgewood Convalescent Home in Edgewood, Iowa. He was born on March 30, 1934, at home in Manchester, the son of Lawrence and Veronica (Krogman) Goedken. Bud was raised in the Dyersville area and attended country school near Dyersville through the 8th grade. He joined the United States Army in 1956 and was stationed in Korea and drove for a colonel. Read More	Anthony "Bud" John Goedken, 87, of Manchester, passed away on Friday, October 15, 2021 at the Edgewood Convalescent Home in Edgewood, Iowa. He was born on March 30, 1934, at home in Manchester, the son of Lawrence and Veronica (Krogman) Goedken. Bud was raised in the Dyersville area and attended country school near Dyersville through the 8th grade. He joined the United States Army in 1956 and was stationed in Korea and drove for a colonel. Bud was honorably discharged in November, 1958. On May 5, 1959, Bud was united in marriage to Esther Feldman at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Worthington. Six children were born to this union. They ran the family farm for nearly 45 years. Bud provided butchering services on the farm as well as for the Manchester and Ryan lockers. He also drove school bus for West Delaware for 18 years and drove for the Amish for 15 years. Bud was an active member of St. John Catholic Church in Delhi for many years. Bud enjoyed woodworking, fishing, playing cards and dancing. He was always busy creating his masterpieces. Bud was proud of his collection of international tractors, enjoyed attending local auctions and really liked to cook. He always enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Esther; his six children, Becky (John) Sullivan of Manchester, Rick (Joyce) Goedken of Strawberry Point, Tim Goedken of Hopkinton, Sheryl Becker of Manchester, Scott Goedken of Manchester, and Jenny (Mike) Myers of Lisbon; 11 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren with two on the way; four siblings, Donna Sellner of Earlville, Andy (Maxine) Goedken of Dyersville, Grace Feldmann of Worthington and Eileen (Bill Wiskus) of Luxemburg; one sister-in-law, Lois Goedken of Dyersville; and many nieces and nephews. Bud was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Gladys (Donald) Steger; his brother, Leo Goedken; and two brothers-in-law, Tom Feldman and Irvin Sellner.
