Description	:	Anthony Otten was born on a farm in Lincoln County, SD on Dec. 20, 1902, the son of George G. and Hilka (Alberts) Otten. He was raised here and attended rural school and Tea school. On Aug. 12, 1925 he was united in marriage to Rachael Marie Straatmeyer at the Germantown parsonage. They continued to farm north of Lennox until retiring into Lennox in 1964. Read More	Anthony Otten was born on a farm in Lincoln County, SD on Dec. 20, 1902, the son of George G. and Hilka (Alberts) Otten. He was raised here and attended rural school and Tea school. On Aug. 12, 1925 he was united in marriage to Rachael Marie Straatmeyer at the Germantown parsonage. They continued to farm north of Lennox until retiring into Lennox in 1964. Mr. Otten was a member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church, having served his Church as Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher, Deacon and Elder. He also served as a school board member of Goldenrod District No.66. Having been in good health, he passed away suddenly at his home Sunday morning, Feb. 15, 1970. He attained the age of 67 years, 1 montha nd 25 days. Besides his parents, one son, Leroy, preceded him in death in 1966. Survivors include his wife; two sons: Orville and Walter both of Lennox; one daughter: Mrs. Ed (Lois) Thomas of Canby, MN; eight grandchildren; four brothers; Harry of Lennox, Dan of Sioux Falls, Ted of Hartford and Fred of Tea and one sister; Mrs. Clara Reiners of Lennox.
