Description	:	Anton Oltmanns, 87, died Sunday, January 16, 2011 at the Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls following complications of heart surgery. Anton F. Oltmanns was born on a farm south of Lennox on January 20, 1923, the son of Fred L. and Grace (Buse) Oltmanns. He attended Vietor School District #86 and grew up south of Lennox. Read More	Anton Oltmanns, 87, died Sunday, January 16, 2011 at the Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls following complications of heart surgery. Anton F. Oltmanns was born on a farm south of Lennox on January 20, 1923, the son of Fred L. and Grace (Buse) Oltmanns. He attended Vietor School District #86 and grew up south of Lennox. He served in the US Army during World War II and received an honorable discharge. On October 23, 1945 he was united in marriage to Iva Jibben at the Turner Co. 1st Presbyterian Parsonage. Following their marriage they farmed south of Lennox and retired into Lennox in 1998. Anton was a life long member of Turner Co. First Presbyterian Church where he served as an Elder, Deacon and Treasurer. He had served on the School Board and the Farm Gas Co-op Association Board of Directors for several years. He also was a member of the Davis American Legion. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and woodworking and especially enjoyed the time spent with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father in 1954, his mother in 1952, his brother, Steeven in 1972; his half-brothers: Bert S. Oltmanns in 1976, William S. Oltmanns in 1979 and Fred S. Oltmanns in 1995. Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Iva; his four children: Lynn (Anita) Oltmanns, Davis, Gerald (Naomi) Oltmanns, Lennox, Marjean (Doug) Siepkes, Spencer, IA, and Vera (Kerwin) Haan, Lennox; 11 grandchildren: Jill (Scott) Dangel, Joel (Heather) Oltmanns, Josh (Stacy) Oltmanns, Janel Oltmanns, Amy (Matt) Dallmann, Sarah (Michael) Anderson, Sarah (Jay) Davis, Kristin Siepkes, Pam (Ryan) Klenner, Andrew Haan and Jason Haan; 11 great-grandchildren: Marcus and Brian Dangel, Chase and Madeline Oltmanns, Sadie, Eliza and Hudson Oltmanns, Liliana Dallmann, Isabelle and Cameron Anderson and Carter Davis; sister-in-law, Josephine Oltmanns, Lennox and brother-in-law and sister-in-law: Sam and Joyce Hofer, Mountain Home,AK. Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 20 at the Turner County First Presbyterian Church, rural Davis, SD with burial in the church yard cemetery.
