The funeral was held Saturday at Norfolk with burial in the New Lutheran cemetery. He was born Jan. 17, 1885 at Council Bluffs, Iowa. At the age of 2 he moved with his parents to Omaha where he spent 4 years of childhood. They then moved to Tilden where he received his education and resided until age 19. He then moved to Pierce. Bokemper, 64, of Los Angeles, California, formerly of Norfolk, died Sunday, May 8 at Los Angeles. The funeral was held Saturday at Norfolk with burial in the New Lutheran cemetery. He was born Jan. 17, 1885 at Council Bluffs, Iowa. At the age of 2 he moved with his parents to Omaha where he spent 4 years of childhood. They then moved to Tilden where he received his education and resided until age 19. He then moved to Pierce. He was married on Feb. 25, 1909 at Pierce to Miss Alvina Ruhlow. They established their first home at Osmond. Their first son Walter was born there and died at the age of six months. Later they moved to the Robert Ruhlow farm 9 miles west of Pierce where their second son Arthur was born. In the 1914 they moved to Norfolk where the daughter Arlene was born. In 1920 they moved to Turley, Missouri and engaged in farming. In 1928 they returned to Norfolk where he was employed with the Norfolk Creamery company until 1937. The family then moved to Los Angeles where he was employed with the Dow Chemical company. He was survived by his wife, 1 daughter Arlene, 1 son Arthur, 2 grandchildren, 1 sister, 3 brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son.
