Description	:	Anton Rausch II was born March 26, 1899 at Adams, Minnesota to John Rausch (b. 1876 in WI) and Margaret Rausch (b. 1878 in Iowa). His grandfather, Anton Rausch I, born in Weibern, Germany, arrived in America in 1849, and his grandmother was born on the Atlantic Ocean when her parents sailed to America in 1847. He married Margaret Steiner on November 14, 1922 at Mott, North Dakota. They farmed in Hettinger County, but because of the severe drought in 1936, they moved to the Courtenay area. His grandfather, Anton Rausch I, born in Weibern, Germany, arrived in America in 1849, and his grandmother was born on the Atlantic Ocean when her parents sailed to America in 1847. He married Margaret Steiner on November 14, 1922 at Mott, North Dakota. They farmed in Hettinger County, but because of the severe drought in 1936, they moved to the Courtenay area. They also farmed in the Wimbledon-Kensal vicinities before moving to Dazey in April 1952 where they purchased the former Charlie Jaeger farm. They were active members of St. Mary's Church. They sold the farm to James Wieland in October 1973 and moved to Valley City in July 1974. Anton and Margaret Rausch had twelve children. They are: Mary Hockert, Paul (died June 14, 1980), Albina (died 1927), Agnes Lipetzky, Hildegarde Sodawasser, Bernetta Engels Gross, Joseph (Brother Cletus), Julius (died July 17, 1958), Frances (died 1937), Angeline Clemens, Anton III, and Rosella Klinger. They have thirty-nine grandchildren and twenty-seven great-grandchildren. The children who resided with their parents in the Dazey community were Julius, Angeline, Anton, and Rosella. Julius, a 1953 Dazey High graduate, was lost at sea July 17, 1958, while in the U.S. Air Force. Angeline, a 1956 Dazey High graduate, went to Valley City State Teachers College and taught school in Stutsman and Griggs counties. Anton III graduated from St. Catherines in 1959. Rosella graduated in May 1963 from North Central. Anton Rausch II died March 1, 1975 at the age of 75 and is buried at St. Mary's Cemetery, east of Dazey.
