Olinger lifelong resident of the Robins community, died Monday morning, 16 February, at the age of 71 years, after an extended illness. He was born 10 December 1881, in Cook county, Ill. He came to Iowa at the age of 1, and lived in Linn county the remainder of his life. Olinger lifelong resident of the Robins community, died Monday morning, 16 February, at the age of 71 years, after an extended illness. He was born 10 December 1881, in Cook county, Ill. He came to Iowa at the age of 1, and lived in Linn county the remainder of his life. He was married to Effie Blackford, in 1908 near Alburnett and for the last 37 years they made their home in Robins. Surviving in addition to his wife are 3 daughters, Mrs. Edith Buresh, of Las Cruces, N. M.; Mrs. William Knight of Robins and Mrs. Emma Bright of Oildale, Cal.; 1 brother, George Olinger of Springville; 3 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were a sister and 4 brothers. Mr. Olinger was a member of the Robins Church of the Brethren. He was a minister of the denomination and a teacher of the Bible class. He also served as custodian of the Robins church for many years. During his active years Mr. Olinger was a truck gardner, & he also carried the mail for the Robins post office for 23 years. Funeral services were conducted at the Yocum - Murdoch chapel at Marion at 2 p.m. Wednesday 18 February by the Rev. Russell E. Jarboe of Robins.
