Services will be held at 10:00AM CDT, Saturday, November 29, 2014, at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Hazen with Pastor Kirk Peters officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, Friday at Barbot Funeral Home, Hazen. Antonia (Galster) Johnson was born to Emilia (Boeshans) and Bernhardt Galster on October 29, 1925. She was baptized November, 1925 and confirmed July, 1942 in country churches. She attended elementary country school and graduated in 1941. On October 12, 1947 Toni married Gale Clare Johnson. Together they raised a beautiful family of four children on their farm south of Hazen. She resided there until her death. Toni’s family was her everything next to God. He always came first in her life. God blessed her with many gifts; she loved working in her flower garden and raising a vegetable garden until age 85. She spread her love by sharing her vegetables, the many apples they raised, and of course her awesome pickles with the neighbor and visitors. Toni was very hospitable and always had a meal or goodies ready in minutes to feed anyone that stopped to visit. Her other gifts were the gift of sewing and making beautiful hand-sewn quilts. She has made many quilts for others and always said; “A quilt has a purpose and it should be used and not put on display.” A day did not go by without her daily devotions (morn / night) and her journaling. She did her journaling every day for over 40+ years. Those journals have come in handy when we couldn’t find something or wondered when so and so visited. Another gift she had was evangelism and sharing her love of God with everyone. There wasn’t a time when you left her home without her saying how blessed we are that we know our Jesus and we have to remember to give Him thanks in all situations and to take one day at a time. Her faith was so strong. Through her evangelism and faith she has taught many how important it is to keep God in the home. Antonia is survived by her daughter Deborah (Terry) Hubbard of Mayville WI; her sons Clyde (Jackie), Hazen, ND, Neal (Stacey), Delhi, IA and Mark (Melanie), Woodbridge, CA; grandchildren Tera (Dave), Amy (Mike), Tim (Val), Pamela (Joey), Megan (Jeff), Joseph (Karen), Daylene (Rich); great-grandchildren, Ciara, McKenna, Lucas, Ella, Claire, Dylon, Owen, Austin, Tessa, Steven, Ashlee, Morgan, Kyle, Zander, Zea, Zoe, Tessa; great-great-grandchild Tony; two brothers John (Edna) and Leonard (Ruth); two sisters Alma and Erna; one sister-in-law Vonnie; and many loved nieces and nephews. Antonia was preceded in death by her husband Gale, her parents, Emelia and Berhardt Galster, her brother Raymond Galster, and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law.
