Description	:	Arabelle was born May 22, 1925 at Johnstown, ND, to John and Rachel (Lasham) Haddow. Arabelle attended elementary and high school in Johnstown, then moved to Niagara in 1941 and graduated from Niagara High School in 1943. She graduated from Lake Region Jr. College in 1944. Arabelle worked at the Devils Lake Chamber of Commerce; and The United States Selective Service Office in Devils Lake. Arabelle was united in marriage to Earl Halstenson, Niagara, on July 18, 1945 at Elk Valley Lutheran Church of rural McCanna. Arabelle attended elementary and high school in Johnstown, then moved to Niagara in 1941 and graduated from Niagara High School in 1943. She graduated from Lake Region Jr. College in 1944. Arabelle worked at the Devils Lake Chamber of Commerce; and The United States Selective Service Office in Devils Lake. Arabelle was united in marriage to Earl Halstenson, Niagara, on July 18, 1945 at Elk Valley Lutheran Church of rural McCanna. She was a confirmed member of Elk Valley Lutheran Church, where she was president of WELCA, church treasurer and Luther League Advisor. She was a charter member of Niagara Homemakers, and belonged for 64 years. She also cooked at Niagara Elementary School, was a seamstress at Mary Elizabeths in Grand Forks, ND; and was a Christmas Around The World consultant. Arabelle loved to sew, journal, oil paint, rosemaling, visit with family, friends and neighbors. She enjoyed reading books and poems. She was a devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandma Belle and great grandmother. She is survived by her children: Jacklyn (Gloria) Halstenson, Niagara; Juel (Vickie Jo) Halstenson, West Fargo; Rodney Halstenson, Niagara and Barbara (Richard) Gannarelli, Rolla; 11 Grandchildren: Heidi Halstenson Cvancara (Scott Rohrich), Timothy Halstenson, Lowell Halstenson, Matthew Halstenson, Chris (Sheila) Barry, Tavis (Dr. Amanda Farr) Barry, Heidi Jo (Tony) Ladwig, Holly Jo Groothuis, Lucas (Kayla) Gannarelli, Dustin Gannarelli, Riley Gannarelli; and 12 great grandchildren; her sisters Ada Muir and Margaret Carlson and brothers-in-law Myron Halstenson and Gordon Halstenson. Arabelle was preceded in death by her parents, husband Earl in 2008; daughter Ruth Barry and granddaughter Angela Barry; and her sisters: Mary Lottine, Ethel Bakken, Lillian Weaver, Frances Asleson and a baby brother. Funeral Services: Wednesday, December 30 at 11:00 a.m. in Elk Valley Lutheran Church, rural McCanna. Interment: Elk Valley Church Cemetery, rural McCanna Visitation: Tuesday, Dec. 29 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. with a 7 p.m. prayer service in the Bakke Funeral Home of Larimore. Visitation will resume for one hour prior to the funeral in the church on Wednesday.
