A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Albert and Sarah Carter Price. She was retired from the Housekeeping Department of the former Carter County Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Garland was a member of the Holly Springs Free Will Baptist Church. Her hobbies were quilting and gardening. Survivors include four daughters: Barbara Ann Heaton, Elizabethton, Joyce Pierce and husband, Edgar, Jackson, Tenn., Janet Buckland and husband, John, Telford, and Betty McGuire and husband, Wayne, Elizabethton; Two Sons: Kenny Ray Heaton, Elizabethton, and Frank Heaton and wife, Shirley, North Wilkesboro, North Carolina; 9 Grandchildren; Several Great Grandchildren; Two Brothers: Lazarus Price and wife, Mary, and Lem Price and wife, Virginia, all of Elizabethton; Several Nieces & Nephews. Funeral Services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Monday April 4, 2011, in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Justin Hodges officiating. Interment will follow in the Ensor Cemetery. Active Pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 3:50 p.m. Monday, will be: Joe Eggers, William Berry, James Dinson, Dana Carver, Kelly Bowers and Tommy Campbell. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Ernest Garland, Willie Seltzer and David Chambers. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Monday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at her residence.
