Description	:	Per the 1900 Census he was born May 1827 Tuesday, August 22, 1905, THE MONROE JOURNAL (Union County, N.C.) -Mr. Archie HELMS, one of the old landmarks of the neighborhood just east of town, died Sunday of heart trouble. He was 79 years old. He served three years in the war, being a member of Co. E, 30th North Carolina Regiment. Towards the end of the war he was captured and kept prisoner for sometime. Read More	Per the 1900 Census he was born May 1827 Tuesday, August 22, 1905, THE MONROE JOURNAL (Union County, N.C.) -Mr. Archie HELMS, one of the old landmarks of the neighborhood just east of town, died Sunday of heart trouble. He was 79 years old. He served three years in the war, being a member of Co. E, 30th North Carolina Regiment. Towards the end of the war he was captured and kept prisoner for sometime. He was a consistent member of the Methodist church and was a quiet, good old man. He always lived in this immediate vicinity and when a boy split rails where the house now stands. His wife and ten children survive him. The remains were buried at the HELMS graveyard, the funeral being conducted by Rev. Mr. HIPPS. HELMS graveyard aka Billy Woods Cemetery.
