Read More	John Archie Moses LIFE STORY OF ARCHIE JOHN MOSES Archie John Moses was born in Wales, Sept. 23, 1882, and died at the hospital in Oskaloosa, Dec. 11, 1952, at the age of 70 years, 2 months and 18 days. He came to the United States while a small boy and settled in the town of Kirkville, Iowa. He attended school and grew to manhood in Wapello County. He was married to Deborah Richards on April 19, 1902, and to this union were born nine sons and two daughters. Four sons preceded him in death, Thomas, Jenkin, Richard and William, also his parents, 3 sisters and 3 brothers. Surviving are his widow and 5 sons, Alfred, of Burlington; Edward, of Pershing; Ben, of Knoxville; David, of Rock Island, Ill., Ernest, of Oskaloosa; and two daughters, Deborah Kerr of University Park; and Kathryn Bebee of Des Moines; also 20 grandchildren and one great-grandchildren, also a brother, William of Rock Island; and a sister, Sarah of Melcher, besides a host of relatives and friends. His life occupation was mining, which he began at the early age of nine and followed for about 50 years. He had resided at Pershing for the past 31 years. He was a member of the U.M.W. sofa, and a respected citizen, and will be missed in the community. Funeral services were held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Zion Church, conducted by the Rev. John Turner and William Frye. Burial was at Zion Cemetery. Knoxville Journal Dec. 18, 1952
