He was born on July 27, 1932 in Wolcott, IN to the late Sonnie Hubert Swartz and Dora Ethel (Mitchell) Swartz. He was born on July 27, 1932 in Wolcott, IN to the late Sonnie Hubert Swartz and Dora Ethel (Mitchell) Swartz. On June 24, 1956 at the Monticello United Methodist Church, he married Mary Kathryn Meents; she passed away on May 8, 2018. Ken was a 1950 graduate of Monticello High School. He had owned and operated the former Kens Service Station from 1949 to 1967. After closing his service station, Ken went to work for White County REMC, working and retiring there after twenty-six years of employment. Ken had served in the Indiana Army National Guard for eight years. He was a member of the Monticello United Methodist Church. Ken was also a member of the Libanus Masonic Lodge #154 F. & A.M. for over fifty years. He was an avid NBA, Indiana Pacers Basketball and Purdue University Men's Basketball fan. Ken also enjoyed watching bird. He and his late wife attended the Indianapolis 500 Race for numerous years. Most importantly, Ken was a loving, devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by four children; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one brother; one sister; three sister-in-laws; one brother-in-law; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, Archie was preceded in death by a brother, William "Bill" Swartz.
