Read More	Archie St.Clair Keddy 2004 Halifax Chronicle Herald (From the collection of Charlene Veinotte) Archie St.Clair Keddy, 84, Martin's River, passed away January 22, 2004, in Fishermen's Memorial Hospital, Lunenburg. Born in New Ross, he was the son of the late Nathan and Elizabeth (Reeves) Keddy. Archie was predeceased by his dear wife of 20 years, Della Rose (Crawford). Archie was the devoted father to John aand wife Roxanne, Judy Bonnell and fiancé Wray Strong, Linda, Dan and partner Dorothy Lohnes; foster father to Susan Brown and husband Garth. "Poppy" will be deeply missed by the pride of his eye, granddaughter, Stephanie Bonnell and by Matthew and Christian Brown. Archie served in the R.C.A.F. during the Second World War and was a member for 36 years of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 24, Bridgewater. Archie learned his basic carpentry skills working alongside his father, Nathan, on local residential projects. An opportunity led to employment with Butler Brothers Limited for 21 years, where he became foreman of the major Halifax Construction Company. In 1969, Archie became a teacher at Lunenburg Vocational School, Bridgewater. Here, he shared his vast knowledge and acquired experience of carpentry skills, but more, became a mentor to dozens of students, teaching the lessons of life. After 15 years, Archie retired to pursue personal interests of woodworking, fishing, hunting, and boating. Funeral service will be held 2 p.m. today in St. Martin's Anglican Church, Martin's River, Rev. Robert Brush officiating. Interment will be in St. Martin's Anglican Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made in Archie's memory to St. Martin's Anglican Church or a charity of your choice. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Mahone Funeral Home, Mahone Bay.
