Description	:	Ardelle L. Yahn, age 93 of Watertown, SD passed away on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 at a local care center. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 7, 2012 at Cornerstone United Methodist Church in Watertown with Reverend Roger Spahr officiating. Jourdan Rystrom will be the soloist and Lynn Osthus will be the organist. Interment will be in the Kellerton Zion Cemetery near Hazel, SD. Visitation will be from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday at the Wight, Comes & Sogn Funeral Chapel in Watertown and on Monday prior to services at the church. Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandchildren.... Ardelle Luella Yahn was born on May 9, 1918 to Herman and Lillie (Wendling) Hammetter in Vienna, South Dakota. She attended school in Hazel and graduated from Hazel High School in 1936 as valedictorian. Ardelle then attended Eastern State Teacher's College in Madison, SD in 1937. She married Leslie Earl Yahn on August 18, 1940 in the Kellerton Evangelical Church near Hazel and the couple lived and farmed in the Hazel/Vienna area. Ardelle taught at Oxford 5 and Dixon 1 rural school for four years. Ardelle was employed at Midland National Life Insurance Company in Watertown for more than 15 years. She was then the secretary on staff at Midwest Bible Camp in Watertown. The couple retired from farming in 1982 and moved to Watertown and became members of the Ninth Avenue United Methodist church which later became Cornerstone United Methodist Church. Ardelle served as a church pianist/organist for 75 years. She was a member of the Gideon Auxiliary, taught Sunday School, was Director of Children's Work and had served in various Missionary Society offices. Ardelle is survived by her three daughters, Lavonne (Virgil) Green of Bird Island, MN, Donna (Denny) Engle of Gautier, MS, and Melody (Bob) Johnson of Willow Lake, SD; six grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; one sister, Jeanette Singrey of Hazel, SD. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leslie on January 12, 2003; and one sister, Margie Janssen.
