(Neujahr) Aegerter was born on March 5, 1922 in Seward, Nebraska and passed away on November 19, 2011 in Seattle, Washington at the age of 89 years, 8 months, and 14 days. Arden was a 1939 graduate of Seward High School. Upon graduation he worked on cattle ranches in western Nebraska. (Neujahr) Aegerter was born on March 5, 1922 in Seward, Nebraska and passed away on November 19, 2011 in Seattle, Washington at the age of 89 years, 8 months, and 14 days. Arden was a 1939 graduate of Seward High School. Upon graduation he worked on cattle ranches in western Nebraska. In 1942 he reconnected with Betty Jane Evans at a chance meeting on the steps of the Seward County Courthouse. They were engaged later that year and married on February 2, 1943. Arden attended Army Air Corps Officer Training School focusing on RADAR and navigation. During WW II he flew missions as a Boeing B-29 Navigator in the South Pacific. Arden remained overseas until the conclusion of the war. Upon Arden's return to Seward, they moved to Oklahoma City, OK where he was a Livestock Fieldman. They returned to Seward in 1950, moving to Ralston, Nebraska in 1962 when Arden became a manager of Ak-Sar-Ben. They relocated to Seattle in 1967 where Arden was Managing Director of Seafair, a large civic organization until retirement. He then worked for the Salvation Army as a fund raiser for a three state area for a year. They lived in a home in north Seattle looking down to Puget Sound and across to the Olympic Mountains. Arden was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Betty Jane on July 25, 2011, and his three brothers and sisters-in-law, Mervin and Jane Aegerter, Harold and Ruth Aegerter, and Ted Aegerter. Arden is survived by his sons and daughter-in-law, Tone and Cheryl Aegerter and Jon Aegerter all residing in Seattle; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Gene and Delores Aegerter of Ft. Myers, Florida, Jack and Betty Aegerter of Seward and Phyllis Aegerter of Seward; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Lauraine and Chuck Langner of Tyler, Texas; nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
