Description	:	Ardis L. Boe, 76, of Yankton, died Tuesday, October 28, 2003, at her home in Yankton after a two year battle with cancer. Visitation will be 1:00 to 9:00 p.m., Friday, October 31, with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., at the Ray, Cantrell & Wintz Funeral Home in Yankton. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 1, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Yankton, with the Rev. David Wildermuth officiating. Pallbearers are Joel Boelhke, Duane Brue, Harlen Greckel, Brian Wek, Rodney Wek and Lee Wrigg. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Yankton, South Dakota. Read More	Ardis L. Wek was born May 16, 1927, on the family farm in Hutchinson County, near Freeman the daughter of Theodore and Margaret (Jensen) Wek. She was baptized and confirmed at Bang Lutheran Church, rural Freeman. She attended Viborg High School for three years and then graduated from Augustana Academy in Canton in 1945. She received an Associate Degree in Education at Augustana College. During her teaching career, she taught at Hospers, Iowa, Beresford, rural Mayfield school, Irene and Viborg. She married Robert Eugene Boe on June 4, 1950, at Bang Lutheran Church, rural Freeman. Continuing her education, she earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education from Yankton College in 1969. In 1989, she retired having taught 25 years at Viborg public school. Before retirement, Bob and Ardis moved to Yankton. She was a active member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister, who treasured and cared for her family. Surviving are her husband, Robert; one daughter, Marcia Boe of Yankton; five sons, Robert (Kimberly) Boe of Lennox, Mark Boe of Sioux Falls, Randall Boe of Viborg, Gregory Boe of Irene and David Boe of Yankton; two grandchildren; two sisters, Vivian Gauvin of San Jose, CA, and Marjorie Roning of Hills, MN.
