In 1934 she graduated salutatorian from Forsyth, MT., High School. She married Richard H. Jensen in Miles City, MT., in 1937. Age, 76, she suffered for over o decade chronic pulmonary obstruction disease. Mrs. Jensen was born in Lincoln, NE., and grew up near Rosebud, MT., where her parents moved when she was 1 yr. old. In 1934 she graduated salutatorian from Forsyth, MT., High School. She married Richard H. Jensen in Miles City, MT., in 1937. His job with the Milwaukee Railroad moved them nearly every year until his death in 1954, at which time she returned to Miles City with her two children, Gary and Janet. She remained in Miles City where she worked for Northern Pacific Railroad until she has finished putting both children through college. Gary thru M.I.T. and Janet through Macalester. While her children were finishing college, she renewed her own education by completing a correspondence course in accounting, on the basis of which in 1968, she became the first women to be promoted from a union position on line to the Accounting Dept., in the General office of the Northern Pacific Railway in St. Paul, MN., where she worked until her retirement in 1981. Mrs. Jensen moved to St. Louis in April, 1985. She was a active in the Oasis Programs, especially the journaling classes until 1990 when her health restricted her activities to her home. She formed many wonderful friendships at the townhouse where she lived, especially with Marilyn Jauernig, who provided most of her day by day care since 1990. Among the survivor's are her son and daughter-in-law, gary and Jen of University City. Her daughter, Janet Cragar of Shreveport, LA., Her sister, Rita Philbrick of Forsyth, MT., and six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Mrs. Jensen donated her body to the Washington University Medical School. Memorial contributions may be made to Visiting Nurse Assn. Hospice Care, St. Louis, or to Colonial Healthcare Center, University City, MO.
