Description	:	Ardith A. Jones, age 77 of Yankton passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at the Avera Yankton Care Center, Yankton. Ardith was born December 9, 1934 at her farm home near Verdigre, NE to Wenzel and Vlasta (Janovec) Kurka. She was baptized and confirmed at Lutheran Church in Niobrara, NE. Jones, age 77 of Yankton passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2012 at the Avera Yankton Care Center, Yankton. Ardith was born December 9, 1934 at her farm home near Verdigre, NE to Wenzel and Vlasta (Janovec) Kurka. She was baptized and confirmed at Lutheran Church in Niobrara, NE. She attended rural school near her farm home in Verdigre, NE and started high school in Niobrara, NE; graduating in 1952. On December 23, 1952 she married Dale V. Jones at Trinity Lutheran Church in Yankton, SD. They started their married life in San Diego, CA where Dale served in the United States Navy. After his honorable discharge they moved back to their family farm and farmed from 1954-1966. To this union two children were born Karen and Dailen. While living in Niobrara she was active in Eastern Star, Church Work, 4H, and other activities. In 1966 they moved the family to Yankton, SD where Ardith worked at Fantles, Montgomery Wards, and Sunshine Foods. After retiring her and Dale wintered in Mission, TX, where they enjoyed golfing and being with friends up until Dale's cancer and death in 1998. Ardith stayed in South Dakota and went back to work doing demos, something she loved up until her health forced her to quit. After three back surgeries put her in a wheel chair, she was still able to stay in her home and went back to work as a volunteer at the Sacred Heart Hospital. Her little dog Pal, of fifteen years was the love of her life. They were meant for each other. She was a 50+ year member of O.E.S and of the V.F.W Auxiliary. Ardith was also a member of the First United Methodist Church in Yankton. Ardith is survived by her daughter, Karen (James) Gaulke of Yankton, son, Dailen (Linda) Jones of Riverton, WY, three grandsons; Brad Gaulke, Brian Gaulke, Blake Jones, two granddaughters, Raelyn Jones and Tina Campbell, five great grandsons, one great-granddaughter, and her beloved dog, Pal. She was preceded in death by her infant grandson, parents, husband, in 1998, aunts, uncles and cousins. Obituary & Photo is from The Opsahl-Kostel Funeral Home & Crematory
