Description	:	Ardith Marie “Ardie” Stewart, 75, of St. Paul, Iowa passed away at 3:01 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2016 at the Great River Hospice House in West Burlington, Iowa. Born April 23, 1941 at Mount Union, Iowa the daughter of Clifford and Gertrude Sammons Jones. Ardie was a 1959 graduate of Salem High School. On March 30, 1961 at Waco, Texas she married Jerry Lee Stewart. Born April 23, 1941 at Mount Union, Iowa the daughter of Clifford and Gertrude Sammons Jones. Ardie was a 1959 graduate of Salem High School. Survivors include her husband Jerry Lee Stewart, Sr. of St. Paul, Iowa, one son Jerry Lee Stewart Jr. of Bakersfield, California, four grandchildren: Alexis, McKenzie, Tyler and Nikki Stewart and two great grandchildren Mason and Dakota. Also surviving is one brother Earl (Linda) Jones of Santa Barbara, California. Several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one son Terry Stewart. She retired from the Orcutt School District in 2000 as a cook. She and her husband Jerry lived in Santa Maria for 51 years, following her retirement she and her husband moved back to the area to be closer to their family. She enjoyed traveling with her husband and playing the “slots” along the way. She especially loved talking to her grandchildren and giving them wise advice. Friends may call after 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2016 at the Schmitz Funeral Home in West Point where the family will meet with friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. that evening. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 20, 2016 at the Schmitz Funeral Home in West Point with Pastor Aaron Helterbran officiating. Burial will be in the Salem East Cemetery in Salem, Iowa. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in her memory. Obituary & photo published by Schmitz Funeral Home in West Point
