She was born on May 8, 1910 in Sunnyslope (Wenatchee), Washington. Ardys was the second of three daughters born to Ernest and Florence (Phillipi) McMillan. Read More	Yakima Herald Republic October 7, 1999 YAKIMA - Ardys Darlene (McMillan) Erickson, 89, of Yakima, passed away on Sunday, October 3, 1999 in Garden Village Convalescent Center. She was born on May 8, 1910 in Sunnyslope (Wenatchee), Washington. Ardys was the second of three daughters born to Ernest and Florence (Phillipi) McMillan. The girls, Ardys, Velma and Dorothy were raise on the family apple ranch and attended Sunnyslope Elementary School and were graduates of Wenatchee High School. Ardys attended Washington State College in Pullman where she played basketball and other sports. She was also a member of Alpha Delta Pi and graduated with a teaching certificate. Ardys and Leonard spent the next twenty years in Goldendale, WA. Ardys loved golf, bowling, music, bridge and was a member of the Eastern Star. As a founding member of the Pied Pipers, a musical group, Ardys spent many hours composing four part harmony. She was also an outstanding knitter and accomplished seamstress, making many garments for her daughters, including dance recital outfits, cheer-leading uniforms and going-to-college wardrobes. Ardys and Leonard moved to Yakima in 1960 where Leonard continued working for Boise Cascade and Ardys kept up her interests in bowling, bridge, golf, knitting and sewing. Ardys is survived by her husband of sixty-four yers, Leonard of Yakima; two daughters; four grandchildren; her sister; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in dath by her parents and sister, Velma Erickson of Wenatchee. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 8, at 11:00 AM in the Keith and Keith Terrace Heights Chapel. Concluding services will follow in Terrace Heights Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or Diabetes Association.
